The Origins of the Angelus as told in Artifacts: Origins

Since the beginning of the universe there as always been the Dark and the Light,  equal and Opposite. 

The light is ruled by the embodiment of The Angelus.

In each generation, Angelus takes a human host; though such hosts have always been little more than puppets to the will of The Angelus. 

For a time, aspiring dancer Danielle Baptista  wielded the Witchblade, the artifact meant to balance The Darkness and The Angelus. When the Witchblade returned to its present bearer, Sara Pezzini… Dani was taken by The Angelus as its next host.  But The Angelus learned from past failures, and allowed Dani to retain her personality and free will.  

She now leads an army of caste warriors upon an ethereal plane, even as she learns to bear this new burden.
