A sad thing happened on FCBD

My girlfriend told me she picked up something called ‘Witchblade’. Because she saw a ‘strong looking woman’ on the cover.

Inside the comic however, she was greeted by this:

Needless to say… she was a little traumatized. Oh how i wish i could’ve warned her. It’s stuff like this that makes me embarrassed to call myself a comic reader at times.

On the plus side: that’s probably the most decent looking Witchblade cover I’ve seen.

That IS a very good looking cover.  Unfortunately, for your girlfriend, there’s that old saying about a book and it’s cover. 

*Sighs*

Witchblade got a lot better with this kind of stuff when Ron Marz and Stjepan Sejic (though he still had a few WTF moments) were on it. Though 5 issues in with the new team and it already feels like it’s quickly going back to the pre-Marz era where there was a lot of ridiculous outfits/armor/poses. It’s not that bad so far but I just wish the ‘try to keep Sara in decent clothing and not nude’ clause stayed after Ron left the book.
